Lemar in Munich

WOW, I really loved the food here. The dips for the starters, made from pomegranate and coriander, were very tasty, but the main course was really very good. For me a whole new world of taste and just super delicious. In addition, great attention was paid to the "AHA rules" and despite Corona you feel comfortable in the restaurant.

Corona rules do not exist? The guests were not contacted. A waiter still wears the mask under his mouth and nose and comes to the table several times. The presumed boss wears the mask at least over his mouth. A group of compatriots is greeted by the staff with a big paw. One of these guests then goes to the toilet without a mask. There are sugar and salt shakers on the seats. For understandable reasons, this has been prohibited for ages. I certainly won't panic with Corona. But we all owe each other a little caution. Here, however, the people in charge don't seem to care. One might have wondered why we suddenly paid without a tip. Instead, we were let go without a greeting.

Lemar is my go to restaurant for good Afghan food. Great ambience, I've always enjoyed the service just as much as the food. Highly recommended!!

Fantastic food and great ambience. The staff was very friendly, responded to our requests and gave us a wonderful evening with their courteous manner. Everyone who visits Munich should have tried the Lemar once. Top - keep it up!

As soon as you enter the restaurant you will find yourself in a beautiful atmosphere. The food is very delicious and exceeded my expectation. Many kudos to the kitchen staff.

The best Afghan cuisine in town! Nice atmosphere, great vegetarian dishes, great meat dishes, very good desserts, good wines and attentive, friendly service! Tip: definitely try: the warm pumpkin as a starter, saffron tea and dooch!

Very good food, just great taste. Portions also very good. Service and ambience was also good .. can only be recommended!

All entrees and main courses we had were nicely presented, full of flavour and simply mind blowing! The prices were more than justified even for the cocktails which were great as well! The restaurant is tastefully decorated and the staff very friendly, the only cons were that they were quite forgetful at times and hard to get call. Would definitely go back there though!

Wonderful food. Unfortunately, a very messy service. We had to change tables three times, waited a long time for the food and then the wrong dishes were on the bill. Unfortunately, the younger colleague in particular was very snooty. Eating nevertheless great. Maybe I'll just order the food here in the future.

Went there last year with my collegues and I had to revisit the place with my husband too. I love love their spices. They a green chutney or whatever rhat is, it drove me crazy, it was insanely good, i couldn't stop eating it with nan. My husband was blown away by their lamb. Highly recommended, you'll have an explosion on your taste buds

Quaint place with beautiful handcrafted lamps and tasteful furniture. Yummy food, the vegetarian dish with pumpkin is amazing !!! The staff is courteous. Highly recommended to find an unconventional kitchen, there again soon !! In the photo appetizer of fried aubergines

service was friendly at first but it's a little awkward how the 2 female staff were arguing with each other the whole time. We got something other than what we ordered. Food is generally quite good, fresh tasting ingredients but the table was not clean, and walking to the bathroom past the kitchen made me completely loose my appetite. Bathroom needs a good scrub. Downstairs area looks like a junk yard. Makes me wonder what goes on in the kitchen. We find the other afghan place in the area much better -

Not very good food

The food was great, but we didn't like the attention. When my friend tried to ask about a certain drink - struggling in German as he is a foreigner -, the waiter replied with very bad manners. Also service was slow! But we loved all the food.

Best restaurant in Munich in my opinion I visited this place several times and the food is always perfect and the staff is very kind and friendly and helpful.

Worth the visit

Nice restaurant, kind owner, but usually crowded during dinner time, waiting time quite long for you to be seated. The foods are really good in term of taste, i am as an asian really like their food, and its also halal food.

I have been to Lemar many times and have taken family and friends .... they / we were totally thrilled! Super sympathetic and hospitable service and the food was perfect. From mild to spicy everything was there and the different sauces were crazy. Kudos to the chef. We like to come back :-)

Average place

The food was good, but a bit pricey for what it is. However, the service was quite disappointing. We had to wait a long time just to order drinks, which, at one point, we thought about leaving.

Really tasty food, nice Afghani ambience. One of my favorite in Munich.

Food was ok but the owners refusal to take American chase Visa card was such a disappointment. He said it either be a German credit card or cash. Not anywhere in Germany has anyone has asked us that. Luckily we had cash but as an American I won’t patronize a business that does not accept American credit cards.

The Qaubali Pulav as always is just heavenly. I could eat that all my life! :P

Tasty Afghani food, reasonable prices. If you have never tried it, Afghani food is tasty and many dishes have a fruity or citrus component. The best "side dish" option in my opinion is the Aubergine (Eggplant). There are 3 Lemar locations., this one is the best of them. Reservations are almost always required on Fridays and Saturdays, and not a bad idea on other days.

The place is unusually decorated: The large, organic, ornate light body catches the eye. The food is a delicious, exotic taste experience. Negative suggests that the table was only bookable for one and a half hours. Layer food?

Very good food, service was okay. The lamb Dopiaza is a must have. And a very nice assortment of vegetarian dishes too. There place we clean but it was way too loud, just the way the tables were arranged. The long drinks were way too sweet. But again, the food was very good. Recommend it for that.

Visited last night. Very friendly staff accommodated without a booking and did their best despite being short of staff as some had called in sick. Food was tasty. Perhaps the best Afghani I have been to outside Pakistan (haven't been to Afghanistan yet). Agha Khailay Mamnoon
